Shreveport Police Officer John Madjerick, 23, had surgery Wednesday afternoon. Madjerick was shot Tuesday afternoon as he attempted to question a man about a string of burglaries in the Valley View neighborhood.
The man, Lucien Trammell, was arrested in the Houston area last night. We won't waste any more time writing about him; he will be charged with attempted first degree murder.
This incident brings back memories of the terrible day when Bossier City Police Officer Trey Hutchinson was killed when answering a domestic dispute call.
Officer Madjerick literally put his life on the line Tuesday while doing his job. Thank God that he will still be with us and will be able to return to work.
