Kerr Elementary walkway will be open at designated times

District 3 Councilman Don Williams has worked with Mayor Walker to get a compromise agreement on opening the Kerr walkway for access during the morning and afternoon so students in Coleman Park can have safer access to the school.
The councilman and the mayor have worked out an agreement that seems to be acceptable to the majority of people concerned with the walkway both pro and con.
We will have more detailed information later and will update.

  1. It never should have been closed in the first place without trying to work something out. Good job Don Williams for look out for the people in your district.

  3. I still say this whole thing was foolish from the beginning. I guess I'm just grumpy this evening, but it's hard to celebrate the fact that Bubba even had to go to the trouble of messing with getting a reversal/compromise/whatever on this issue.

I will say this once again. It is a sidewalk. JUST LIKE ANY OTHER SIDEWALK IN THE ENTIRE CITY OF BOSSIER CITY. IT DOES NOT NEED ANY SPECIAL ATTENTION, OR RESTRICTIONS. IT IS A SIDEWALK, JUST LIKE THE OTHER MILLIONS OF LINEAR FEET OF SIDEWALKS THAT RUN IN FRONT OF DANG NEAR EVERY HOUSE IN BOSSIER CITY.

IT DOES NOT EVEN CONNECT DIRECTLY TO A PARISH SCHOOL, ONLY TO THE STREET IN FRONT OF A PARISH SCHOOL. IT IS A SIDEWALK. AND, IT HAS FENCES AROUND IT!! UNLIKE ALMOST ALL THE OTHER SIDEWALKS IN TOWN, IT IS EVEN MORE DIFFICULT FOR VANDALS TO MESS AROUND WITH THE PROPERTY OF ADJACENT OWNERS WHO OBVIOUSLY BOUGHT THEIR PROPERTY WITHOUT LOOKING AROUND AND NOTICING THAT THERE WAS AN EXTRA SIDEWALK NEXT TO THEIR HOUSE WHERE CHIRRENS MIGHT POSSIBLY TRAVERSE ON THEIR WAY TO SCHOOL.

This whole thing is just stoopid. Whoever shut the thing down in the first place should be fired, or resign...because they are stoopid!

And the wusses that complained in the first place are just about as juvenile a bunch of supposed "adults" as I have ever come across.

    Stupid...the whole thing.

BTW, I do appreciate Bubba for at least forcing a step toward sanity on this deal.
