Congratulations to Tommy Harvey

Congratulations to Tommy Harvey and Thank You to Larry Hanisee for years of service.
Most of all, to all of the teachers and school personnel, know that the people of Bossier do care about you and have your back.

  8. Tommy, I totally agree with above post about J. Hall. A you need to do is when the group of 4 get you aside and let you know how things are done in BC (it takes 4 to agree on a deal) you need to go public with their ideas and let the people know just how crooked this bunch is and i promise you people will flock to your side. The first thing that needs to change is the time of the meetings. Why are they not held when tax paying/working people can attend and be able to give their opinions about some of the proposals put forth by the council or dare not question these guys about all these expenditures that they have put on us with no input from the voting public. Just look at who attends these meetings, mostley retired folks and most of the time the room is almost empty. If you held these at night when regular voting/working folks could show up and voice their opinions you would get many more people attending. Of course this is all done on purpose to keep questions down becuse they don't want to be questioned about anything. Tommy I hope you the best with this job and I hope you DON'T let the people of BC down. Stand up for your priciples and it will pay-off. Just don't become another greedy polictician that has a hidden adgenda.

  9. I go to all of the meetings and the smallest crowd was when they were held at night.

  10. I agree with 6:32. People are too busy to attend the meetings. Besides the crooked stuff doesn't take place at the meetings. It takes place behind closed doors or at "hunting camps". Jimmy Hall knows what I'm talking about. If you want to know what takes place at the meetings you can read the minutes online. That's what I do.

  11. I think Tommy Harvey should bring a stop to all of the travel spending at the Police Jury.

  12. @11:57: What has a Bossier City Council member got to do with Bossier Police Jury spending?

  13. I want Tommy to know I have been e-mailing the Mayor since 09 about my being assaulted at the Funny bone, I am not saying there is corruption in Bossier City but a lot people said some things that I feel were untrue, I have asked for a polygraph, they want even consider it because this would involve McWilliams, Sanford, Stockton, Stewart, and Worley, I am not saying anyone lied.

  15. I agree with 11:57. Tommy should get to the bottom of that parish travel and if they try to stop him, he should go to the media.

  18. Jim, I join you in your congratulations to Mr. Harvey. Maybe Mr. Harvey can pass a resolution to bring the moral of the city's meat and potatoes. The lower tier employees.

If any group of employees has been totally overlooked, it is this group. Higher pay equals higher moral equals better service to the citizens of Bossier City. It will make the Department head's jobs easier also. Win, Win! There is money out there. Just takes a little moving around.

Jim, your blog seems to carry a little weight. How about that blog you agreed a while back on the much needed raises for the lower tier employees. It seems like wandering eyes catch your blogs and minor things happen over a period of time.

My Bossier,,,,,,good work Jim. Please keep it honest the way you see it. You are respected.

  19. I might add that there are a handful of employees that work around the clock and make zero extra pay for sh*t work, I mean shift work.
I am not sure how the Police and Firefighter unions work. Shift differential pay?

Some make tremendous sacrifice to family and friends social events and spending time with said family and friends on holidays.

So much for the phrase "Bossier City is about the family" that the Mayor and City Council Members keep emphasizing.

Like the much respected Police and Fire Departments get, I raise the question shouldn't the council members take care of their own?

To be blunt,,,,(their own being) the inner overlooked underpaid meat and potatoes that bring the funds(other than property and sales taxes) to operate the city, and attempt to bring the service to the citizens of Bossier that the citizens deserve.

  20. I think that is a very bad threat against MR Harvey. You might find yourself jumping off something tall.

  22. Anon May 19,2013 at 10:49AM,,, isn't that what happened to all the employees that new what they were doing? The city suffered. The citizens suffered. PD suffered. You sir have one weird attitude. Council Member? According to all financial reports the City and the economy are back on track.

Please reread the budget and take notice of allotted positions in most departments and how many positions are actually filled. Think smart.
