Good news for Bossier

Great news for Bossier City with the announcement that CSC will locate at the Cyber Research Park. The company anticipates 800 employees over the next four years, and about that many in support positions. With the news released this week about the Shreveport/Bossier being one of the poorest in the country, I would love to see how Bossier stood on its own.
Here is a link to all the details of the move by CSC.
To cap it off, the City has agreed to provide infrastructure so that a Kroger Marketplace can locate just north of WalMart on Airline. Kroger is the second largest retailer in the country, and is making a move on WalMart's market share with the Marketplace stores.

Jim, I do hope the CIC deal isn't a load of b.s. from city hall to get the second phase of the complex built. They've been wanting to build it since the end of construction of the first phase. The citizens of Bossier have been lied to and the misinformation is abundant. Like I said, I hope it's true but I'm not holding my breath until I see it happen.
As for the Kroger deal. That's really good news!

  3. I am feel as the above comments - they have lied so much to us in everything that until we see something concrete just don't believe it. One thing is for sure, the city/parish are going to be putting another $5,000,000 into this next phase. These companies can't beat the deal they get here we build everything for them give them tax breaks, etc. and then sit around for several years to see if they will actually do something or not. In the meantime, they always are looking for additional money for water, trash, etc. They use all of our funds from the boats for what they want and never ask the people about what their needs are and when election rolls around no one asked them any questions and they go back into power as long as they want to. One question I have is do the city council persons get the same benefits as our city employees (health, retirement). If they do then it makes cense as to why the stay on for as long as they do. Not bad for part-time workers if they do.

  4. Anon @ 10:13 AM--You believe it will only cost $5,000,000? Not in this lifetime! How much did the Benton Road overpass cost? (Future name is the Lo Walker Memorial Bridge) How much did the law suit for refusing to allow the curb cut onto ART cost? How much did the cyber space original building cost? If this only costs $5,000,000, then we're getting off extremely light considering the history of our "Leaders".

  5. I read in the Shreveport Times where area workers are the lowest paid in the state. I guess all that talk about how we are the envy of the state no longer holds any weight. But hey let's keep building building and patting ourselves on the back politicians.

  6. I would not put Lo Walkers name on anything that you I want to hold up. When is the next mayoral election for Bossier? When you look at honest politics, Bossier City, has never came in first.

  11. There are more law suits most of the public is not aware of. The public does not seem to care anyway.
