Jindal 2012?

With the sound defeat of the McCain-Palin ticket and the election of Barack Obama as president, the Republican party will be looking to 2012 to stage a comeback. A lot of people and pundits are touting the name of Bobby Jindal.
A few are suggesting a Palin-Jindal ticket. In my opinion, this will never happen. I think that by 2012 Palin fever will have cooled dramatically, while Jindal will have been working the rubber chicken circuit, fundraising and making lots of new friends.
Jindal says, of course, that running for president is the furthrest thing from his mind.
Right.
That's why he will be in Iowa later this month for a fundraising appearance.

  2. Alex, I think he is sitting in a pretty spot. He will be working the media and building Republican friends by fundraising, etc.
If it looks like Obama will have re-election clinched in 2012, Jindal can just go with "I have a job to finish in Louisiana", and wait for 2016.
If it looks like Obama is a washout, then he'll go for it.
This is one of the most ambitious young guys I have seen in a while.

  3. Totally agree.
Jindal is extremely ambitious and I have no doubt he will be a future Republican candidate for Presidency.

  4. I hope Jindal takes some time from his busy national schedule to be the Governor he promised for our state.

He also needs to shore up some REAL smaller government, less spending cred before I start proclaiming him as the next great hope for conservative Republicans.
