Chief Webster Parish ADA arrested

Chief Webster Parish ADA Sherb Sentell was arrested in Bossier City last night on several charges. We understand that he is being booked into the Bossier Maximum facility and will have more details as soon as they are available.
Sentell apparently was drinking and shoved his wife.

  4. Word around Minden is he beats his wife.

  5. Sherb Sentell is an arrogant ADA and doesn't think anything or anyone can touch him because of what he does and his family name. He persecutes people on the news and in the paper. If Skylar Marvin lets this slide all the rumors of the corruption in the Bossier/Webster DAs office is confirmed and definitely needs to be investigated by higher authority!!!!! AND he does beat his wife ask the housekeeper!!!!!

  6. Everybody knows that you just have it in for Schuyler Marvin. This is just more of the same.

  7. i dont think marvin can hide this as some suggest given the media attention. not to mention there are two sides to every coin and you are innocent until proven guilty in the US-just saying

  8. yeah, jim, i knew you would paint this as all marvin's fault. you always do.

  9. Yeah...somethin' is rotten in Denmark...but it aint Jim...

  11. I really dont want to add fuel to "haters" of the District Attorney's office, but these people are human and make mistakes. Where is the love people? Do you have that much hatred in your heart?

  12. I think this blog should have some audio playing while we read, the song "dirty laundry" by that former eagle musician should do. its funny how you got 15 comments about a guy getting drunk and mouthing off ( i guess i should say "allegedly") and no comments about 2 cops shooting an unarmed man- wait, this blog doesn't even report the fact that the man was aparently "unarmed"- goes to show that we like the tabloid news more than the real stuff.

  13. "but these people are human and make mistakes."

So because they work as an ADA we are not supposed to hold them to the same standards that other people are held to? Sorry, that doesn't wash.

  14. Mr. Sentell's crooked ways are finally surfacing. He has held himself above the laws. He has stormed out of the court room like a child throwing a tantrum when things don't go his way. He has prosecuted people when he should have excused himself because of a conflict of interest. How would you like to be prosecuted by a man that had a personal relation with the victim? He should be removed.

  15. Mr. Marvin would do well to dismiss Mr. Sentell before he is dragged down with him. People don't know half of the corruption in this little town. This is not out of character for Sentell. He was meaner than a snake in his school days.

  16. I would have liked Marvin to have said something to the effect of : "This behavior will not be tolerated in this office-We hold our own to the same standards as our community. Using our position to threaten and coerce other law officers, if accurate, is intolerable" Something along those lines. Instead, we get from Marvin that he would hate that one small incident would dictate his career path. Guess what, every decision we make dictates our path. Its called FREE WILL.

There are several reasons marvin might say what he did, they include:

    1. His friendship has clouded his judgement
    2. Sentell has dirt on Marvin
    3. He is so arrogant as DA he believes he and everyone that works with him is above the law

  17. Look at the videos and decide for yourself. This appears to be a serious overreaction by security. Sherb Sentell is one of the most caring officers in our court system. People who have had him as a prosecuter for their criminal actions probably don't like him because he is good at his job. He is one of the most honest citizens in Minden and allowing former defendents who have a grudge against him to be able to blast him on this blog is probably not the most accurate reporting.

  18. Refreshing to see a fair minded person with common sense finally comment. Anyone who is the least bit objective in viewing the videos can see that the police overreacted. The man has no prior record and honorably served his country (can the hate mongers above say the same?). I'd say he deserves to be judged fairly and objectively. Those that claim that he beats his wife obviously don't know him and have some other agenda with their comments.

  19. Jim - i wonder what the police are saying about the falsified reports - wow - I am sure anything derogatory about the police will be discounted - but anything bad about the ADA involved will be believed immediately - well - who is lying - the officer who is now fired or the ada that is on ad leave - wonder what the facts will hold

  20. "the officer who is now fired"
Hadn't heard that and don't see anything online.

"A reserve officer has been fired and a full-time officer is under investigation, individuals familiar with the case said."

  22. I hate when police officers are admonished for doing their jobs! That is how you get the problems they have in shreveport

  23. 1) Over-reacting security officers? Would you think the same way if YOU were the person being physically restrained and verbally abused IN A PUBLIC PLACE? Of course security did their job to intervene and investigate. And if someone would do this in public...

    2) Fair minded? When they agree with you, huh? Otherwise their comments are suspect?

    3) Honorably served his country? Great, I appreciate any service he, or anyone, performed for Uncle Sam. So does that mean a vet can do no wrong for the rest of their life?

    4) Falsified reports and begrudged defendants? Hmmmmm, maybe karma really does exist. I know from personal experience that the officers, detectives, and DA's office falsify reports, even manufacture and forge "evidence", and trash civil liberties granted by the constitution, which the judges overlook, while "doing their job." It's just now, these tactics are coming to light against one of their own...

I've always wondered HOW in the world we 26th district citizens could rid ourselves of these scoundrals - a seemingly impossible feat. Perhaps, just perhaps, this is how it ends? The ROT gets so complete, the hubris becomes so large, that they then finally turn on themselves?

    "I've got a dream."

  24. Lord - PLEASE let this go to trial, and let me be one of the jurors!!! :)

  25. By the way....gee wiz, I wonder who set the bond?? Was it the duty judge? Nope, it was the DA's special go to judge Mike Craig. You remember the guy Schuler Marvin ran against Judge Burchett. Nice courthouse we got up there.

  26. As a father I'd like to say that anyone who thinks that Sherb's behavior wasn't abuse should consider how they would feel if someone handled their daugter that way. Jail would be the only place he'd be safe if that were my child he was jerking on. Do you really believe that all of the Horseshoe employees that saw this and reported it were just out to get Sherb? He has been drunk and obnoxious at the boats on more than one occassion and I would like to know how he gets himself home afterwards. His arrest kept one more drunk driver off of our streets.
