Former Bossier Parish Deputy sentenced in District Court

Daryl Slade Hood, a former Bossier Parish Deputy Sheriff who was arrested in February of 2008 and charged with stealing restitution funds from the probation office, was sentenced by Judge Jeff Cox in Bossier District Court today.
Hood had been charged with 3 counts of felony theft, 2 counts of forgery, and 1 count of malfeasance in office.
He was sentenced to 7 years at hard labor with all but 5 years suspended, and 5 years active probation after the sentence is served.
He also must make restitution of $15,194.84, a $1,500 fine and court costs and comply with other conditions of the probation.
The case was prosecuted by Bossier ADA Lane Pittard.
