  4. So does anyone know when construction is going to start on the new casino? How long will that whole submarine issue delay things? Who is creating that issue? I bet it's a group that doesn't want the casino built.

  5. That would be called Shreveport! If you put a patio on your home Gary Joiner would say there is a confederate sub under there. We should buy him a sub to complete his life. By the way, he want to create a job to look for the sub on the property as a "consultant."

  6. if they have been laying there for almost 150 yrs without anyone wanting to recover them, forget it. It's just an attempt to make the city or the new casino pay for it. I say RIP.

  7. With the passage of the casino vote there will be some fatter pockets in Bossier City. Government for sale!

  8. The citizens spoke, you idiot.

  9. One day we will find out who the real idiot is and I will be sitting back laughing because asses like you let it happen.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Idiots? Asses? Oh my, what ever happened to the civility rule? Can't we all just get along?

  11. I know where that submarine is. I was 13 when me and a buddy (that shall remain nameless) found it while catfishing.

    We never told nobody!

    This is spooky.

  12. You will sit back and laugh at what? That you are a miserable idiot and the circus left town and did not offer you a job? They already had a mule.

  13. Construction on the casino started about a month ago with dump trucks preparing the site. (To the BC authorities, the vote was simply a formality.)

You forgot to add that the Amendment prohibiting the levy of new taxes on home (and other) sales passed. Thank God.

  15. Anon @2:24 PM - I checked it out, and don't get the point. What does the Indiana thing several years ago have to do with anything?

  16. Just heard Lo is running for another term next election. Wonder what plans he has to waste this money? Think he'll reinstate the benefits the city workers lost?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah Jim, I pulled up the .pdf & read it. I'd like to know what one has to do with the other.

Might be something we don't know about. Maybe Anon will clue us in.

  18. 4:02,
He'll keep sinking money into the cyber research park. There are plans for more buildings. Construction ofva second building is about to begin.

    ReplyDelete
  19. He'll probably build more of those city owned gas stations that everyone is so fond of. What is funny is the citizens of bossier will probably re elect him.

  20. If you want to find the confederate sub, tell the caddo commission that Caddo's last confederate sub was hidden by confederates in Bossier and buried in a secure container in a hole at the new site as a memorial to the confederate flag.
It will be found and destroyed by next meeting.

  21. Hey, Walker has all of the inside info from the Base. He was a COL you know.

  22. If I remember correctly, bossier city elected a retired colonel from the air force back in the early 80's. His name was Marvin Anding. It didn't work out well for Bossier then either. He ran Bossier into the ground financially as well. He died while in office. We then elected a young businessman by the name of Don Jones. He put Bossier back on track and the we elected George Dement. He too had business management experience. I believe that worked out well too. Then we elect his right hand man Lo walker. You guessed it a retired colonel. He proceeds in 4 short years to run Bossier into the ground financially. Funny how history repeats itself. Let's never elect an air force colonel again. We can't afford it. Literally.

  23. There's a rumor that the bozos in Bozo City are putting a knife in old Lo's back (don't get me wrong, old Lo has no businedd being mayor) and pushing Jane Smith to run for mayor. So, they're complaining about a myor who ran the city into the ground for someone who almost spent the school board out of business?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jane smith would be an awful mayor as well. Bossier City needs to completely new blood. But I'm not counting on it. I look at the positive though. Most of them are old as dirt. So I figure when the reaper gets one the others shouldn't be far behind. Bossier will probably be a shit-hole by then but I can do like everyone else and move just outside the city limits where their dumbass decision won't effect me so much.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I agree. You will fit well in S'port.

    ReplyDelete
  26. What the f. Walker's CEO is a retired COL at 91 K a year. Your tax dollars at work.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Good grief, why is it when anyone makes a comment about the way Bossier City is governed the only comment is, "Go to Shreveport," or "We're not as screwed up as Shreveport."
No Bossier City isn't as screwed like Shreveport, Bossier City is is screwed in a Bossier City sort of way.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I know I'm in the minority here but I find Bossier City to be quite nice. Maybe pessimism is just some people's way of life.

    ReplyDelete
  29. A.J., By your own admittance, you're new to Bossier. It run by a bunch of incompetent boobs who hire their Shriner buddied instead of competent people to do the peoples' business. Case in point, look what happened at the Bossier Parish Sheriff's Office. That is just the tip of the iceberg. YEAH, We're better than Shreveport. And to it "Idiot" who called me an idiot. Look who's laughing now and look who looks like a fool. HA! HA! HA!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Idiot, I hear the mule just died. Maybe you do have a shot at the circus job. Their standards are not very high so don't get discouraged.

    ReplyDelete
  31. BPSO makes the mistake and the employees have to pay the penalty. I would say Ive never heard of this happening but I work for BCPD. It's kinda like the mayor and city council building a 100 million dollar empty building and making us pay for it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. No I don't want the circus job. I don't care to much for the clowns who run the Shriner Circus in Bossier City. Especiall the city attorney who is the ring master. BTW, I suspect you're one of those clowns.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I rather have Lo than Jane Smith!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Nothing but a bunch of clowns on this blog today, thinking they know all about nothing!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hey idiot, congrats on be a turkey survived Thanksgiving. Now you can go back to gobbling and walking around in your own poop.

    ReplyDelete
  36. He is probably under qualified for the mule job anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anon @ 8:32, by your illiterate rambling I am guessing you are one of the stooges the powers that be in Bossier surround themselves with in order to feel intelligent.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Anon 9:50

I have lived in Bossier City since 2005. I'm not sure if that's considered "new" or not.

    ReplyDelete
  39. A.J,
Since 2005? You haven't even earned a right to form an opinion about Bossier. Unless you've lived here all your life, your parents lived here all their life, grandparents lived here all their life and great grand parents help start bossier then you can't hold office or have an opinion in bossier. Doesn't matter how educated you are it's still not allowed.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Thankfully, the registrar of voters disagrees with that view. If not, we might end up going to only white, landing owning males forming opinions again.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Now there are ways to get around the lived here all my life rule. Marry into the family of someone who has been in Bossier their whole lives or kiss Larry Deen's or Jimmy Hall's butts. The best way is to join the "Rue" McClanahan Lodge or the El Kabuki Shriner Temple and sell your soul to the devil. Then, and only then, it will be determined on a case by case scenario. What will really help you is if you turn on and screw over your friends, colleagues, and fellow citizens to get what you want and share with the other rats.
That's how it's done in Bossier, but hopefully one day the tide will turn and honesty and integrity will return.

    ReplyDelete
  42. 9:42,
I hold out hope but there is too much money in play now. If all we have to choose from are businessmen or career politicians then we will never have integrity or honesty in local government again. Oh, Shriners too. Almost forgot the crooked cult.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Okay I generally read this for laughs but sometimes it's just a bit much. First of all -- for a community that prides itself on being military friendly you all sure do have a bias against retired colonels. Are retired lieutenant colonels okay? How about majors or master sergeants? Do you think military retirees are going to work for nothing? The previous CAO was a retired law enforcement officer and made in excess of 100K. I guess that's okay - at least he wasn't a "retired colonel!"

    ReplyDelete
  44. We have had two and they both sucked. Just the way it is.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The popular line of thinking for those who are in power in Bossier is if you're not from here you're an idiot. That is unless you have money they can get by sucking up to you or if you sell your soul to the devil. So, since just about everyone stationed at Barksdale aren't from Bossier and are people with integrity they're idiots.
