Double Murder Arrest

Brandan Butler of Bossier City was arrested early today by the Bogalusa Police Department on a warrant from BCPD and is charged with the double murder of Darlene Beadle & Karyl Ann Cox.
Butler was known to the women. After the murders he is alleged to have taken Karyl Cox's car, which was later recovered.
Good job by BCPD in solving this one.

  1. Lets see, neighbors saw the Butler at the residence prior to the bodies being found, Butler drover away in the victims car... Did they need a flashing sign that said follow me? LOL... A blind man could have caught him... Another genius criminal and of course great detective work!!! LOL... Right!!! Chief McWilliams had Brian Griffth leave his office on the second floor to find Copperhead just in case, and I hear Griffith will be securing another courtroom in Benton during the hearings for safety! LOL...

    1. Thank You for being Honest. If you didn't no Bryan Griffin received a promotion just six months after the copperhead Debacle, Fine Job McWilliams, and Mayor Walker. This kind of leadership helps me to understand why I would never lived in BC. A friend of mine that now owns the largest Bail bonds company in the Ark la tex said, If I Lived in Bossier I would move, why do you think Shane, and Stockton live in Haughton.

  2. Good job on this case, Hope this guys get justice. Those guys did good work, no one put a lot of pressure on them, just good police work. Good job guys. I believe that people that are that disgruntled with their jobs, miserable going to work, should quit, they are hiring across the river.

    1. Good police work, are you blind. They were told what car to find, and the guy was in, but how do we know he worked alone, maybe Copperhead's brother was in on it. They screwed me over, lied to me, and threatened we with False Arrest. and the little Mayor would not even look in to it. Now that's Good police work.

  3. Again...someone commenting on a subject they know nothing about. Wow, you're ignorant. Where do you get all of your wrong info??

  4. Again, someone wanting to hide the truth. There are numerous officers, sergeants, lieutenants, and a couple of captains (only because McWilliams has been running off all the senior officers on the department) who would love to tell the Bossier Police Department to kiss out a--. And as you should know, we are constantly going to other departments, and we are extremely short handed; however our city council refuses to allow us to hire. But most likely you are a younger officer, if an officer at all, who still don't know his head from his a-- either! Or maybe you are like Mike Halphen and would like to say drink it up, or sick it up big boy!!! Then again, he was a shinning example of a Chief as well wasn't he!

    1. The BCPD is overwhelmed with Corruption, if you can leave like the people that were smart enough did when The Sheriff's Dept changed leadership. I have met Sheriff Steve Prator, and I wanted to work with good leadership, I would go to Caddo Parish, nothing against Whittington I am sure he is great to work for too.

  7. Anybody hired will be laid off in January.

  8. Layoffs would not surprise me. The 1st layoffs in 1988 were at the suggestion and planned by Lynn Austin. Then after Austin retired in 1991, Bossier City appointed real chiefs of police and the city took the appropriate steps to turn things around. Fast forward to 2009, Austin comes back in the picture, and wouldn't you know it, the end of 2009 saw layoffs again for the second time in Bossier City History with once again, Lynn Austin heading up the planning for the Layoffs. Here we go again in the middle of 2014, and yes, Austin has now been one of the main ones pushing for another round of layoffs throughout the city.

    1. I feel if they would go back and fire Corrupt Officers, they would have a good police force. Starting at the top.

  10. Another armed robbery in bossier. Boy having less police is really working out well. Hey Shane, the city council is not going to let you hire more police so how bout you and Stewart quit running off everyone and let the ones we have be police officers instead of just report takers.

  11. BCPD have had less Police for a while, the only city that doesn't tase and bean bag the Mentally Ill , Like the Bi-Polar man that was having an altercation with a Police Officer that the BCPD knew was Bi-Polar, they take them out.

  12. For the Families of these young girls, I hope and pray that God helps you to find closure. No person should have to die like this. I hope a miracle happens, and the BCPD Detectives get one right for a change. If you ever watch shows like the first 48, you will quickly see we are working with a different skill set. Never give up hope, that the truth will come out. You have many people praying for Justice, and I hope with all my heart, the young ladies, and their families get the Justice they deserve.

  13. The detectives did an exemplary job in this case. Give credit where it's due.

    1. It's funny how if you listen to your witnesses, you solve a crime. ABC to me they did nothing exemplary. But if you say so, that's fine with me. I bet if they used this method more often, they would have more success.

      Delete
    2. Isn't that what exemplary means, a model of how something should be done? You say they did nothing exemplary, but then follow up by saying they should do it more often. I think you just contradicted yourself in an effort not to give them any credit at all.

  15. I hope it was one of my friends that were so honest with me, on the detective squad. Tell them I said look in the paper for a minimum wage job, because that's all the worth. and if they try and go across the River I will make sure that want last, too many connections.

  16. Jim, Funny Bone Guy is back with ignorance again. I see most of his posts, obviously it's him.....ole Charles Wilder. He likes to name names. That is his name. Wilder is nuts. He believes that he was wronged by BCPD, although he does nothing about it but run his mouth, saying the truth will come out.....He does nothing but talk, he has nothing. His lawsuit against funny bone was messed up by him. Keep it up Crazy Chucky Wilder. -FRANK

  17. I am just glad they caught the guy, and the guy talking about someone hurt his back, that is sick, and the thing about it is I think he is a local Detective. We don't need that kind of talk on this site, and I am glad you made your comment. Maybe BPCD can start to get things going in the right direction. I just hope the DA's office does a good job of putting this guy away.
