Harvey, Hanisee in runoff

Where have we heard that one before? Last time it came down to two votes.
Looks like (for a change) my prediction was correct.
Tommy Harvey ran first, Larry Hanisee second and Mischa Angel is out.
Runoff part two is coming up.
In District 1, Scott Irwin has an unsurmountable lead and will retain his seat on the council.
Larry Hanisee (Incumbent)

Tommy Harvey

  5. I find it pretty suspicious the timing of the Times article on the Walker place fiasco. The day AFTER the elections. Then again they love the liberal politicians. bossier has plenty of the them regardless if they say they are republicans.

  6. I agree about the Times Article. This should have come out the week before the election so at least a couple of districts may having elections would have been reminded of the the $26million that we will end up giving away due to the current council members vote to stop economic developement. Seems like they all talk about Econ. Dev. but they decided to play hardball with old Shreveport money and he out foxed them and won. Great job council yall keep up the good work of throwing our money away. Can you imangine what we could have used this $26mill. They always claiming that we have no money but all of a sudden they have a pot full stashed away for crap like this. O' well, maybe Harvey can try to change a few thing around there and if not maybe he can call attention to whats really going on at city hall.

    1. I hope Tommy Harvey wins, Bossier needs a voice and just a face to standup for things like possible corruption in the BCPD. Good Luck Tommy, make a difference for the people of Bossier City. Try and keep Low busy.

    1. Now is that coming from Frank or Timmy, Frank is the mad one that known of the detectives want to work with. And Timmy is the one that tells you when Frank is mad. I printed this stuff of the KTBS web site, you can't make this stuff up. And anyone that has a nice person in their head needs to in a padded cell.

    1. My hopes are that in four years, if Low makes it that long, Tommy is our next Mayor. And he fires Detectives that arrest people because of Pressure from the city to make an arrest. I'm glad that was kept quiet, or we would have been the laughing stock of the US. How did that work, did they put pictures on the wall, blindfold a Detective, and hand B_ a dart.

  12. Jim, a suggestion. Please rename your blog, My Bossier Police Department. For the hearing impaired,,,,, PLEASE RENAME YOUR BLOG, MY BOSSIER POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Some may get the sarcasm some may not.

(Really got mucho respect for the good ones in PD) There are some good ones that I cross paths with. Salt of the Earth.

Not sarcasism,,,,, many other city departments that stay quiet, do their job and suck it up. Under paid and in the mud. Real men and women.

No substantial income gain in many years now. 2% this year only to have it taken away by the Fed at a higher rate resulting in a lower bring home.

Hats off to my fellow other than PD workers. Real deal these folks are.

  13. I have no idea what you are even talking about, I know nothing at all about the Funny Bone 'incident'. However, if you think I'll jump on the bandwagon and attack BCPD you're wasting your time.

  14. If you have not read Elliot Stonciepher's letter on the Walker Place situation that our great Bossier Leaders got us into after they were told they would probably loose this battle I would advise that you go to the Dead Pelican and pull it up. This lays out just how our city leaders could care less about our money and how they spend it. I hope Tommy Harvey reads this article and that he uses it in the upcoming election. He needs to have this publised in the newspaper and let the people see just how far these nuts let this thing go and will cost us $27,0000,000 just to get their way. They should be all run out for malfeasance in office and sued by the taxpayers of Bossier City.
They are all just a bunch of crooks that want to think they are hot stuff. I don't know why Mike Beam did not bring this up during the election seeing as good old Scott voted right along with these others and then had the nerve to try to take credit for the $10,000,000 park that we will have to build per judgement. Thind what could have been done with the $27mill. for improvements to the City.

  15. Ive said it and ill say it again. The only winner in this case besides U.L. Coleman is Jimmy Hall and lawyer buddies that handled the lawsuit. He rides every lawsuit out as long as he can then in the end he either settles or hopes the other party runs out of money.

  16. You can go to the top right hand of the blog and do a search for Eliot Stonecipher or Walker Place and find his remarks.

  17. I told my councilman to fight Coleman as did many at the South Bossier meeting. I am mad that they settled. Now I see where the Coleman guy is sueing Shreveport because they gave someone else a curb cut on their parkway. As far as I am concerned Coleman and Stonecipher are both slime.

    ReplyDelete
  18. 10:24,
The problem was that the city promised U.L. Coleman a curb cut. That was part of the deal when the city convinced them to buy that and develop it. The city then reneged on the deal after U.L. Coleman spent millions holding up their end of the deal. If the city would have held up their end of the deal the the city would still have $26 million dollars in the bank.
I'm sure no one in south bossier wanted a curb cut. But your city councilmen approved a curb cut the spent $26 million because they changed their minds and wanted U.L. Coleman to do the same.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I live in south Bossier and I don't remember Scott Irwin ever having a meeting of the people and asking them thier opinion. Most in SB wanted a new development like this as we always seem to get the leftovers after they have spent the big monies in north bossier. I totally agree with the above post, the UL Coleman group was given the curb cuts on the origninal plats submitted but somebody in the city administration decided to do a little shake-down and the messed with the wrong person. They thought they could keep it in the Bossier Courts and the good old boy system would have worked for them but that did not work in this situation and when the federal court got involved they dediced to cut their losses and pay the money. Now he not only gets the oringinal curb cuts promised him but gets a large median cut in front of his place. This is just like that CYBER deal- where is all those big jobs that were coming here. Ever drive by the place - lucky to see more than 10 cars in the parking lot. Once again $12.5mill. from the City and $12.5MIll from the parish. They always seem to find all this money to spend when it's their big deal but when it comes to the day to day operations they look at passing new taxes. Your water bill is going up again at the end of this year.

  20. At least we are better than Shreveport. That's what I was always told.

    ReplyDelete
  21. 2:59,

NO ONE ever promised Coleman anything and NO ONE ever enticed him to buy anything. He came to he city. He never named who promised and the court NEVER ruled on those claims that were filed for over a year.b don't drink theColeman Kool-aid because now he is suing the City of Shreveport because they ga e somebody beside him a curb cut. He is slimy. Had26 lawsuits in play when he sued Bossier.

  22. 6:30,
If your correct then why did the city fold. You don't drink the city kool-aid. Or maybe you are one of the ones making the kool-aid.

  24. This may help Mr. Harvey. He is NOT related to the crooks who own Harvey Toyota!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think that may have hurt him the first time. I remember him trying to explain that. This time however I think people know he is not related to them so I bet he wins pretty easily. I also noticed the mud slinging stopped when mischa angel got beat.

  26. MR. Harvey, I hope you have read today's article by Mr. Stonechipher's in regards to the Walker PLace fiasco and who is seems is really running Bossier City. Based on what he has discovered (with more to come) our mayor nor any other city official has any say in what goes on as to policy only Mr. Jimmy Hall. He seems to be the King of the city and does not inform anyone of whats going on even though it has now cost us TAXPAYERS
$26million for his screw-ups. I am sure he is appointed by the Mayor to this position and we the people should force our city leaders to throw this guy out of this office which he has held for years and seems to have all the power. I hope Mr. Harvey gets in this weekend and if nothing else he needs to hold press conferences each time a deal is going down by the old heads on the city council and let the people know whats up. If he did this he could then run for mayor.

  27. I've been saying this for sometime. Jimmy hall runs this city and for some reason everyone is scared of him. Chubby Knight challenged him and got arrested on some bogus charges. The evidence was in the plea bargin offered to Chubby Knight. Jimmy Hall is really a coward. He uses his position to inflict his will upon people for personal gain I suspect but hides behind the elected officials that put him there. He is never been held accountable for his actions. If he himself were confronted for his decisions then people will see what a coward he really is. Keep up the good work Mr. Stonecipher

  29. Thanks to a couple of posted comments on this site regarding the Stonecipher artilcle I decided to find and read it and I am now wondering if we the citizens of Bossier City could ask the Atty. General of the state to look into this matter for us and maybe get some type of decison as to what he did is within the law and did the council have an obligation to have some input into this matter. This would be intersting .

  30. Asking the attorney general would be pointless. I can tell you for a fact that jimmy hall, Schylur Marvin, and the attorney general are close friends.

    1. I have tried to get the Attorney General to help me with as what I see as Corruption with the BCPD. If the Major could pay $375. for me a polygraph test for me I could prove, McWilliams, Sandford, and Stockton, did not tell the Truth in the Funny bone case. Stewart threatened, me and they didn't if question the suspect that had fled for to months, and Walker has turned his head for three years.
If you give me a polygraph you can prove McWilliams is an honest Chief.

    2. Don't you want to show the city McWilliams is Honest?

  31. The best thing that could happen is the mayor fire Jimmy Hall and the people vote Schylur Marvin out of office. You would not believe the deals that are made in the DA's office.
