Congratulations Alabama

Jordan Jefferson, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Hopefully with Mettenberger and Kiel next year LSU will have an offense.

LSU 12-0, but I've changed my mind about one thing

What a game.  LSU just won't be beaten this year.
Second to LSU, I have always liked the Razorbacks, and I have really liked Bobby Petrino as their coach.
After this incident today, I have changed my mind.  As I so eloquently noted in the comments on Andy's blog, he is a poor loser and an asshole to boot (pardon the pun).
He was upset because LSU kicked a field goal when they were already up 39-17.  The reason Les wanted it, of course, was that Alabama beat Arkansas by 24 points, and by going 41-17 so did LSU.
This was Petrino's reaction.

LSU makes offer to Haughton QB Dak Prescott

Haughton quarterback Dak Prescott visited with LSU head coach Les Miles in Haughton today, and was offered a scholarship. Prescott had made a verbal commitment to Mississippi State earlier this year, but has not officially signed with the school.
According to The Times, Haughton head coach Rodney Guin said “He wants to play quarterback, and they offered him as a quarterback.”
Mississippi State was the first SEC team to make Prescott an offer. LSU is also having talks with former Georgia quarterback Zach Mettenberger.
How great would it be to see a Bossier Parish QB leading LSU within a couple of years?

LSU does it

LSU proved that they can defend their turf against the best of the best.  LSU 24-Alabama 21.
What a great game!

And more Pictures from Tiger Stadium on this momentous occassion, compliments of Sage Allen.

Witness the Wonder

Saw this one on Sage Allen's Facebook page.
UPDATE Saturday morning:  Stole two more from Sage's Facebook page.  Sage is one of BCPD's finest.

Labor Day in Louisiana

Means the start of LSU and New Orleans Saints football.  Saturday's game against NC was a squeaker, LSU style, but they got the win.
The Saints will open Thursday night against the Vikings.
For your enjoyment, the LSU Golden Band from Tigerland performing before the BCS Championship game in New Orleans - you know, the last one that we one.
They are at the Jackson Brewery.  For you younger folks who don't remember Jax Beer, and especially for the oldies who do remember, the classic Kangaroo commercial.

ESPN announces SEC Network

ESPN Regional Television, the new over-the-air syndication home for Southeastern Conference programming, and the SEC announced today a regionally syndicated college sports package that will air in more than 73 television markets, along with the branding of the syndication package as the SEC Network – all part of the groundbreaking 15-year agreement between ESPN, Inc., and the SEC.
Within the nine-state SEC footprint, the SEC Network will be delivered in markets by the local over-the-air carrier of SEC events. In markets outside the SEC footprint, the syndicated programming will air on either local, over-the-air television stations or regional sports cable networks.
