Local governments show disrespect to our fallen peace officers

Update 2: The flag at the Sheriff's substation on Viking Drive was flown at half-staff today.

Update: The City of Bossier City has lowered their flags to half-mast and apologizes for being unaware of this.

Shameful.
Today is Peace Officer Memorial Day. In his proclamation, President Obama called on everyone to fly their flags at half mast.
"I also call on Governors of the United States and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, officials of the other territories subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, and appropriate officials of all units of government, to direct that the flag be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day. I further encourage all Americans to display the flag at half-staff from their homes and businesses on that day."
Caddo Parish Courthouse - no. Bossier City Hall - no. Benton Town Hall - no. Bossier Parish Courthouse - no. Not even the Benton post office had theirs at half mast.
Shame on them all.

    1. You cannot compare BPSD and BCPD they are like black and white. The smart cops with BCPD that don't have a record are doing their best to get on with the BPSD, and I don't blame them.

  4. The Bossier City Police Department is one of the main reasons that I no longer live in Bossier City, even though I was raised there. I have ZERO RESPECT for them!!! So what if the flags didn't fly at half mast?

    1. Well I think I mean know your very smart. I have been through two examples that have proved what kind of people they are.

  5. Guess your respect for Bossier Police is powerful enough to make you move. I think BPD is doing a GREAT job; depends, i guess, on which side of the law you are on.

    1. I have respect for all honest police officers. The officers that were not honest, or did not do their job in the funny bone investigation, I will get Justice, and I hope to get them fired and locked up.

  7. Jim,
Will you please block funny bone guy? Enough is enough. We get it. He thinks he was done wrong by BCPD. We understand he will take a polygraph. We understand Lo Walker won't call him back. It's like a broken record with this guy.

  8. I agree, sometimes you just have to let something go. It seems to be taking over every post on here. Funny Bone guy - I don't want to block you, but it is getting out of hand. Curtail it please.

  9. Well Jim a crime took place. If I tore two ligaments in your shoulder, and people lied and turned their head would you want Justice. It States in the Constitution Justice for all. Is that what you swore to when you took your office? Or do you get to pick and choose what assault cases you take. Why did people lie, Why was I threatened for no reason other than the fact they were protecting the Funny Bone. Was the City taking kick backs? The people that want me blocked are probably the same ones that lied in the case. I have sent you an e-mail, you know my name, my address, and my e-mail address. Why don't you do what is right and give me the justice I deserve. Corruption doesn't go away Jim, do the right thing, that's what you are getting paid for.

  10. The only email I got from you was a copy of a letter to Mayor Walker. I know nothing at all about what happened to you, sorry that it did happen. The only recourse you have is in a civil lawsuit. Did you file one in the prescribed time? If not, you aren't going to get the justice you believe you are owed. Reality. No one is going to take a lie detector test, if you think they will you are deluding yourself. And no, I'm not getting paid anything to do this blog, it's just something that I do. For your own peace of mind, you really need to move on and let it go.

  11. The Mayor would not help me at all when I told him I as lied to and threatened, like he didn't care, like it was a normal day. The BCPD would not even question my attacker. I have tried to let this what I see as corruption, but now I plan on taking it to the Voters, and let see what is going on.

  12. "funny bone" guy is Charles wilder. He is crazy as they come and has already been arrested for extortion on his funny bone case. I suggest you block him before your blog site becomes a conspiracy and you are added to his next frivolous law suit. some people should simply take their medication as directed.

  13. Wilder is not stable. He has been beating this dead horse for years. He is NOT credible.

  14. I hate to see the Funny bone guy go away. The entertainment is better than anything on TV. Come on now, Hollywood writers can't write this stuff.

His name is Funny Bone Guy,,,, come on now, if that is not a knee slapper,,, Buck and Roy could not do any better than this stuff while Picking and Grinning.

  15. The Flags not being lowered out of respect to the fallen officers our country and our own community is a disgrace. I watched the video of the Memorial service and another example of willful disrespect is dress attire of our infamous Mayor Walker. He did not even have the common courtesy to wear a coat or tie to the ceremony. Also Shreveport Police Chief Shaw needs to have a vote of no confidence filed by the Shreveport Police after the firing of Sgt Prunty. Really the day after the ceremony which you honored his murdered brother. Shame on both Walker and Shaw.

    1. It is not disrespect. Nobody even knew about it. By the way, did you go to any graves?

  16. The flag at half-mast has gotten out of control. It used to be reserved for deaths of major leaders and national tragedies, but now it seems the flag is at half mast more than full.

I often notice it and ask others if they know why it is lowered. They usually do not, and neither do I.

  18. "It is not disrespect. Nobody even knew about it. By the way, did you go to any graves?"
Nobody even knew about it. The law was amended in 1994 to make flying the flag at half mast mandatory on every May 15th in honor of our fallen police officers.
Yeah, I suppose that is too much for the people responsible to remember, after all, it's only some dead cops.

    1. You know Jim people are upset that the Flags not being ay half-mast, and I just like you would be if you were threaten, or lied to by a police officer. I know you don't want to think it happens but it does. I had a BCPD officer pull me over for a seat belt ticket. He said it is painless. The cop knew I was wearing my seat belt. I said I will sign the ticket if you will call your supervisor over here. Then he decided he knew me, and the ticket went away. Funny how that works.

  19. 12:11,
Funny bone guy please go away. Your now telling another story about BCPD that does not make any sense. No one believes you. Why can't you get that?

  20. It's like the thing I saw on Facebook: Chuck Norris got pulled over one time. He let the cop go with a warning.
