In Memory of James Harber

I put this on Facebook and got such an overwhelming response that I decided to share it with those who are not on Facebook.

A 21 year old, James Harber, was killed this week while working his night job at the Exxon on Airline & Old Minden Road. This young man had made the choice not to drink, smoke or party according to his friends. He had enlisted in the Army and was to head to basic in January. He was killed by someone who was sentenced to two years in February (for purse snatching), who was on probation and was arrested last month for simple possession, a violation of that probation. He bonded out.
While we can't honor James' service on this day, we can honor his desire to offer it.
What a shame.

  1. What a shame. I'll say again. That entire section of Bossier is becoming just like Shreveport.

  2. Good thing the bad guy he walked in and turned himself in or it would not have been solved. Wait they would have just put an innocent man in jail for it regardless and had to drop the charges later. Enough of that, it is a waste of life and that's sad.

    1. This is common for BCPD, and please don't compare Shreveport with Bossier. I have never heard of Shreveport Shooting and killing a man with Bipolar, that new he had Bipolar, and arresting the wrong man several times convicted of murder. Shreveport does have a problem with Government.

  3. BCPD arrest the wrong guy? Michael Madden, Patton Street Murder, Gerald Needham, no way they would arrest the wrong guy. The oxen would not allow such things

    1. We need to start a group and get the Attorney General to look into this case of locking up the wrong people. Lo Walker don't care.

    2. Arresting someone is the only way they can get the news people to shut up about them not arresting anyone. They don't care who it is.

  4. Bless this young man, soul.

  5. I grew up in the 60's & 70's about 1/4 mile from where this horrific thing happened. I was talking with an old friend from those days about how it NEVER would have crossed our minds to be afraid of what might happen.

Heck, we'd stay out all night, roaming town, and goofing around...sometimes on our bicycles...sometimes just on foot. Our parents didn't have to worry that something terrible might happen, so they just let us be kids, and explore our peaceful part of the world.

    Damn shame it is.

So sorry that Mr. Harber's life was cut short. I'm sure he would have made a fine Soldier...a credit to The Uniform, and to his family and City.

The POS that killed him should rot in Angola...or get the needle, and hopefully roast in one of the warmer places in hell.

    1. I wish BCPD had a better Discipline system, where as if the wrong person is arrested there should be Consequences. How many people have been arrested and sent to prison for a crime they did not have anything to do with. We don't know, but we should know.

  7. There he goes again Jim. Comparing his case to that of a real tragedy where someone lost their life.

    1. For those of you that did not know, a friend of mine in Law enforce said the young man handed the robber all of his money. The killer turned to walk away, then turned around and shot Mr. Harber. This really touches home for me a man shot my Beautiful 32 year old cousin in the head over $60, he took her 3 kids for a ride afterward but could not kill them.FBG
