  1. This just what everybody has said and it is sad. The community can not find someone who can lead our teachers and students. What about the community and civic leaders who were appointed to help in the search process?

  2. Amazing that the person that launched the investigation into the entire school board affair- the sheriff - and was in possession of information that suddenly became known to the media (I am sure by happenstance of course) and ended up in the inquisitor = and provided work release prisoners to the company the sheriff's office investigated - is now the same sheriff who's sister just happens to be applying for the new superintendents job - wow - that is an amazing coincidence - i am sure there has never been any political motivation to any of the coverage of certain applicants for the job - but not of others -
If the sheriff's sister becomes the superintendent of schools after the sheriff's office launches the investigation that causes the resignation of the superintended and tarnishes the reputation of the leading candidate to replace him - now - wow - that would really be a coincidence

  5. Jane Smith's husband, Sheriff Deen's sister, and NO ONE from the private sector with a CEO background. If this board stays, every child that can afford it should leave for a private school. Bossier schools will begin to go down hill if nepotism continues to run rampant.

  6. I am just surprised that Billy Montgomery did not make the short list.

  7. This board does not have a spine and does not have any business sense. Within four years, we will be the laughing stock of louisiana.

  8. This board should make a statement--next superintendent should clean house financially and report to the voters--- once that term is over, then turn it back over to the coached and gym teachers to run back into the ground.

  9. More of the same, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

  10. I am surprised Calvin Lester is not on this list of usual suspects.

  11. lets see if the sheriff ramps up some more investigation to drive off competition for his sister - or starts sweating individual sb members about their knowledge of the air conditioners - or perhaps no investigation if his sister becomes the super

  13. In short, almost anyone on the list but DC should be considered. Obviously, both Smith and Hayes have strong political connections. This can be good or bad.

  14. Oh my gosh!! The sheriff reported wrongdoing by Bossier employees--isn't that what he is supposed to do--what would you have him do--ignore it and let the school system continue to give money to felons and let crooked employees go right ahead doing their thing!!!! Criticizing the sheriff??Someone should be criticizing whoever was in charge!!!!

  15. I agree with Anonymous (8:33 pm). If there was nothing wrong...then people would not have been arrested. Let us not forget that the evidence was so overwhelming that these people employed and or contracted by the school system pleaded guilty to crimes which ultimately were against our children entrusted in the care of the Bossier Parish Schools. These verbal and written attacks against the sheriff's department, FBI, and the State Attorney General are malicious attempts from desperate people to take the focus away from the real criminals in the school system who were in charge and had full control of the situation but chose to look away or do nothing. I pray the members of the school board will finally see the truth and make a sound and responsible decision for a Superintendent who will bring integrity, trust, and hope to the community. The school system needs to move forward in its initiatives and not remain stagnant in the hands of those who chose to serve their own personal agendas.

  16. Same as same , We have no one to chose from. Nepotism as usual. The superintendent should have some experience in that position, and quality experience at that. Isnt there someone from Texas in the race. Look at their schools compared to ours. I guess the sheriffs sister has experience ,after all she acquired the Rocky Mount High School mystically. How could she not be good? She owns her own school. Theres a legislators husband. Thats experience enough. Then there is Mach........never mind Lets dig up Charles Dartois. At least behavior will be good.
