Whit Graves Endorsed by Republican Party of Louisiana

Whit Graves, candidate for District Judge in the 26th Judicial District in Bossier and Webster parishes, today announced that he has been formally endorsed by the Republican Party of Louisiana.
"I am happy to have earned the support of the Republican Party and look forward to serving all of the people of the 26th District with honor and fairness," Graves said.
Following the primary election in which Mr. Graves' opponent, Mike Nerren, issued payments from his campaign to the owner of a group who produced and distributed a flier supporting liberal Democrat Barack Obama, Mr. Graves is the only candidate who upholds the values and platform of the Republican Party.
Whit Graves has served honorably for 35 years as a decorated state trooper, prosecutor and private attorney. He has spent years serving as a Shriner, helping to ensure critical medical care for our children.
Whit Graves is the most experienced and honest candidate running for District Judge. On December 8, please vote for Whit Graves to be the next District Judge from the 26th Judicial District Court.

  3. I am still a Nerren supporter and will continue to support Nerren. I feel people in glass houses should not throw stones. I think it is great when the Candidates get Endorsements and think that by now most everyone knows from the first go around who they will support and how Lies have been filtering from day one of this Election. I have talked to lots of people who no matter the Lies being told about Nerren They still support Nerren!!!! Its all about who really believes in you and what you say to hold truth and I know Nerren to be a good man and have worked with him in many different situations and know him to be all the good things that people continue to say about him. I do believe in nerren and know he will make a great District Judge. I am sure the Nerren supporters and family do not take to well all that has been said and done to them so before you go blowing your own horn remember their are always two sides to every story and the TRUTH will come out maybe not today or even tomorrow but it always comes out and a lot of you will be surprized just who really paved this road. I never wish bad to come to anyone nor hurtful things but oneday for all the Lies being told and once again its not just Nerren its his family that have now been hurt and drug into such turmoil all because someone will say and hurt everyone to get his votes!!! I hope it was all worth it and If for some reason from all your Lies get you enough votes to win you will still have to work or at some time face the ones you truly hurt in your time of desperation to do what ever it takes to win!!!! It was done the last 2 times and now again!!! Congrats on your Endorsement to bad you had to Lie to them to get it!!!!!!!!

  4. Don't think Graves had anything to do with the endorsement. You better check with the State Central Committee of the Republican party. They got hold of the paid for ballots and went to the board. Nerren didn't think of what might happen when he did that. Graves had no intention of using those ballots but now I hope he does since he has been falsely attacked.

  5. Ok I give up. I voted Slattery but now it appears Graves the most honest behind Slattery. I vote Graves.

You do realize that whether or not Nerren supported Obama turns into a lie right? If he supported him, then he had lied about being a republican. If he didn't support Obama then that sample ballot was a lie, which means he lied to voters. Please think before you speak. We do not need any more Nerren supporters shouting and screaming unintelligent and dead horse beating comments. We get it. You're mad. So here's your resolute, get off this thread and go vote for Nerren on December 8th and we'll see how it goes in the end.

  15. I think that the Bossier Republican Party will not endorse anyone. They are the local voice of the Republican Party and their voice is important. A state endorsement means nothing. Nerren 54%.

  16. Denying a state endorsement is important and taking a stab in the dark at what the run-off results will be.

By the way, my apologies for the repost. Figure I'd better make sure to keep both blog posts even.

  17. Don't be so sure about local republicans not following suit with the state, locals have 3 SCC on their committee.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah, and guess who the local republican chairman is. Graves supporter Collier.

  19. Who is on scc on bossier pec?

    ReplyDelete
  20. L Adley and A. Price and D. Lowry

  21. Who else is on the republican parish executive committee? Is Fleming?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ryan Gatti, Jeff Thompson, Richard Ray not Fleming

    ReplyDelete
  23. The local PEC has not voted to support either candidate. This is an endorsement by the state party. The Parish Executive Committee has not endorsed either candidate.

  24. z- didn't the state party endorse Smith over Peacock?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Well since you already know the answer to that question and for the sake of discussion Anon at 11:47, wouldn't you say these circumstances are a bit different? Also, we may have to wait and see how the meeting goes on Monday before we can fully finish this conversation.

In my previous comment I guess I failed to mention that the background information that caused the endorsement for Graves is fairly important. It will make Nerren lose votes in one way or another, I believe at least.

  26. The only endorsements that mean anything to me is from law enforcement . Aside from lawyers, who knows the judges better than the cops? All of the cops I know are supporting mike Nerren. The cops definitely want a judge that is pro-law enforcement

  27. Z- here's a quote from Jay Dardenne. He's out Lt. Gov. - "Dardenne said that Villere's party leadership post did not appear to have "transferred into broad support" outside the 144-member Republican State Central Committee which reelected Villere as chairman in 2010. "

That is why a local party's endorsement in a local race is important. A state endorsement is becoming more and more meaningless. Would you rather have the endorsement of local leaders who have run and won local campaigns, or none from them and one from a state party that rarely picks winners.

  28. 9:20 - I don't know who you have been talking too, but all the LEOs I know are supporting Whit Graves.

  29. Anon @ 9:20
I see an issue with that. I can't see how Nerren can be pro-law enforcement when he has a District Attorney, as an endorsement, that gives out sweetheart deals. I believe that hurts officers morale when their arrests then mean nothing if a deal was made in favor of the friends of the district attorney or friends of Nerren.

    Anon @ 9:52
I see your point. I don't see it as picking a winner though. I still do see the endorsement as important. Back in the day it used to be you look at a sample ballot and you vote down the line of either Republican or Democrat. I see it as an endorsement that could help gain votes to help Graves in the overall results. I'm not gonna go out on a limb and take a guess at what the results are gonna be, because there are so many variables that go into a run-off, especially this one. Also, like I said, we may also have to see what happens on Monday to be able to finish this conversation.

  30. Republican Parish Executive Committee meeting.

    ReplyDelete
  31. The State Central Committee members that cast a vote for endorsement of Graves were all duly elected from Bossier districts. The Bossier Executive Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 29, 2012.

  35. I have been a Republican for fourty years or more. The current make-up of the state and local party is a farce. They give no money to the canidate. They give no assistance to helping canvas areas, they are vendictive. The primary reason the people are on the Bossier Parish Committee, is that they were the only ones that knew about and cared to run for the positions. The state party is as bad or worse. These are what we call Blue Blood Republicans. These types helped! cause the Republican defeat on Nov. 6th. Here are a few names of our local group, they are mean spirited and vicious. Ann Price, Laura Adley, yes Robert Adley's step mother, and Mike Collier, remember him. He is the one who made threats afterDewey Bukrchett was beaten,
Mike Collier and Laura Adley are joined at the hip with the beloved and well thought of Sentor Robert Adley. The endorsement of the state party and the potential endorsement of the local party are great reasons to vote for Mike Nerren.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm sure republicans paying for push cards that promoted Obama had nothing to do with it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Anon 9:05 Ms Adley is supporting Nerren and Mr Collier is supporting Graves...I am sure they are joined at the hip. Do you suppose Senator Adley had a choice who his father married? You sir, after 40 years, need to know something before you type!

  39. Really people, do we have any adults in this parish? Do you have nothing better to do with your time than to sit in front of your computers eagerly waiting to pounce on anyone who has an opinion different than yours? To sit and bash others and drag more and more people into your nasty minded chatter is even more embarrassing.
