Shreveport Mayor says that when the police stop you, 'your rights are suspended'

Hear video from Tom Gresham’s Gun Talk radio show of a conversation between a Shreveport man and Shreveport Mayor Cedric Glover. Robert Baillio was stopped by a police officer who, without a warrant or without probable cause, took a gun from his truck. When Mr. Baillio called Mayor Glover for an explanation, he was told, more than once that ‘when you are stopped by a police officer, your rights are suspended’.
The Mayor owes an explanation for his remarks.
Listen to the broadcast and to Mr. Baillio’s conversation with the Mayor here: 090614guntalkA.mp3
The mayor's comments start at 12:30 into the audio.

  1. Jim, thank you for reporting this. I cannot understand how The Times is not all over this. So basically if I travel to Shreveport then be wary that a S'Port police officer will confiscate my weapon without reason? That ain't gonna fly.

  2. Thanks for posting this also. I'm a good friend of Robert Ballio and am the one who converted the audio to mp3 for him. If you want to get a better feel for this, check out this audio/video link. Spread the word.

  5. ALL THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE CEDRIC GLOVER BECAME MAYOR, BUT THE TIMES WILL NOT PRINT IT AND KSLA CH 12 WON'T COVER IT EITHER.
CEDRIC "THE SOCIALIST" HAS TAKEN AWAY YOUR RIGHTS! APPARENTLY, HE OVERRULES THE CONSTITUTION. WHERE IS OUR LOCAL DISTRICT ATTORNEY JUDGE SCOTT??? HE SHOULD START AN INVESTIGATION OF OUR CITY GOVERNMENT IMMEDIATELY.

GLOVER HAS ALREADY RAN OFF A MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR FILM INDUSTRY DUE TO MAYOR GLOVER AND CHIEF WHITEHORN SUPPORTING THE MACING AND TASERING OF JOSH BROLIN AND CREW FOR NO APPARENT REASON LAST YEAR. FILM PRODUCTION HAS BEEN ALL BUT GONE SINCE THIS INCIDENT GAVE SHREVEPORT A BLACK EYE NATIONALLY.

AND DON'T FORGET THE POLICE BRUTALITY SUIT WHERE THE POLICE BEAT AN INTOXICATED WOMAN WITH POLICE CAMERAS TURNED OFF. IT COSTS TAXPAYERS $400,000 AND CHANGE.
CEDRIC GLOVER AND WHITEHORN ENDORSED THE POLICE BEHAVIOR.

GLOVER CONTINUES TO TAKE AWAY THE RIGHTS OF CITIZENS, BUT THE LOCALS ARE PASSIVELY ALLOWING IT TO HAPPEN. RECENTLY, THE CITY COUNCIL PASSED AN ORDINANCE WHERE CITY PERSONNEL CAN COME INSIDE A PERSON'S HOME, UNDER THE DISGUISE OF "RENTAL INSPECTIONS." NOW THIS WILL SET A LEGAL PRECEDENT TO EXTEND TO EVERYONE'S HOME.

ALSO, THE CITY HAS TOWED NUMEROUS CARS OUT OF PEOPLE'S DRIVEWAYS (LEGALLY PARKED ON PRIVATE PROPERTY) BECAUSE THE CARS WEREN'T BEING DRIVEN, EVEN THOUGH THEY COULD BE PROVEN OPERABLE (BUT WERE NOT GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY). THIS IS ILLEGAL SEIZURE BY THE CITY GOVERNMENT, BUT WHO HAS THE MONEY TO FIGHT IT IN COURT? AND WHAT ATTORNEY WILL GO UP AGAINST CITY HALL?

CEDRIC "THE SOCIALIST" GLOVER HAS TO GO IMMEDIATELY.
HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RUN OUT OF OFFICE WHEN HE STOLE POLICE FUNDS TO BUY HIMSELF A SUV, BUT FOR SOME REASON, NOONE IS HOLDING HIM ACCOUNTABLE FOR ANYTHING.PERHAPS THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU HAVE SEVERAL CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS WHO HAVE CRIMINAL RECORDS OR HAVE AT LEAST PARTICIPATED IN CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. CALVIN LESTER, JOE SHYNE, AND CEDRIC GLOVER SHOULD ALL BE IN PRISON. YOU CAN'T CLEAN UP A CITY WHEN YOU HAVE CRIMINALS RUNNING IT!

  6. I can't believe how Cedric Glover could be elected mayor! He absolutely has no education and no class. He is so poorly spoken, he makes our city look like a bunch of ignorant, illiterate morons.

A black mayor who wants to take away people's constitutional rights. It looks Cedric Glover wants slavery back in the south.

Cedric Glover's political career is over!

  7. I being a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Shreveport Louisiana totally agree with who ever posted that comment about "CALVIN LESTER, JOE SHYNE, AND CEDRIC GLOVER SHOULD ALL BE IN PRISON. YOU CAN'T CLEAN UP A CITY WHEN YOU HAVE CRIMINALS RUNNING IT!" and about Cedric Glover being our Mayor. I am currently studying law and according to amendment 5 of the American Bill of Rights it clearly states, "No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jur, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprieved of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation." So I do not agree that Mayor Glover is fit to be our Mayor. These are words coming from a black female.

  8. Time to take to the streets, people. Enough of the police state.

And please help me boycott that POS rag "The Inquisitor" (racist public humiliation for mostly petty victimless crimes)I called most of the outlets in which it can be found to notify them of my intention recently. No, I'm not mad because my mug shot was in there, just infuriated about the POLICE STATE. Did ya'll see the recent cover with all those that dared to party a little during Mardi Gras? SICK promotion of PS.
You can contact me through youtube, look for comments under Glovers video there.

  9. I have to agree our city is being overrun by criminals themselves... Police brutality is at an all time high, and our hard earned tax dollars are being spent to resolve these cases! Some thing needs to change, so what give law enforcement to terminate our rights when pulled over, when they are brutalizing the citizens of Shreveport on false reports.
