Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale

Posted by Pat Austin on Twitter and also on her blog And So it Goes in Shreveport by way of Sarah Way Down South.
From the commentary on the YouTube channel where it was posted:
Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

  1. I cried all the way through this. Both times I watched it.

  2. I don't know how anyone could watch it and not shed tears.

  3. Wow. That was powerful. brought tears to my eyes. Made me think of a young man that grew up with my son a nd I considered him a son to me that was killed over there a couple years ago and his funeral procesion with people along side the road. Do yall mind if I post this on my site?

  4. I sure don't mind; I just didn't because I was pushing linkage to Sarah, but the more the better I say. Go for it!

  5. Absolutely DPS - I just want as many people to see it as possible. I went ahead and posted the video because in my experience more people will watch it if it's there but some won't go to the link.
But, I was sure to link it back to Sarah, where Pat picked it up. We do try to promote each other as much as possible.

  6. Hey, I posted this article. I had trouble trying what you mentioned. I was able to download the video to my computer, but got an error while trying to upload to the blogger. Thanks.
