On July 1st, we published an article about the mineral rights lawsuit that was filed the day before against the Brown Companies. Today the The Dead Pelican has linked to a video from KSLA. Go to the Dead Pelican and click on the link to read Channel 12's story and view the video.
This is going to be an interesting suit. It is based on the premise that if you buy property and no exception is listed for a mineral rights reservation, then you assume that you have bought those rights.

You asume you have bought the rights when you ask all those present including the browns representative, the title company, and the relators and everyone states yes in Louisiana if it is not stated they are being reserved then the new land owner has them. Many of us did not maintain them on the houses we sold becuase we were told we were getting them on the purchase of the new property purchased from brown development corporation. They were dishonest and should do the right thing.
