Derek Dooley new coach at Tennessee

Derek Dooley, AD & Head Football Coach at Louisiana Tech, has been named to replace Lane Kiffin at Tennessee.
Dooley's coaching career began as a graduate assistant at Georgia in 1996. He was the wide receivers coach and assistant recruiting coordinator at SMU from 1997-99. He came to LSU to work as Nick Saban's recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach from 1999-2003. Dooley helped Saban land No. 1 classes in 2001 and 2003. He served as special teams coordinator and running backs coach from 2003-04. Dooley followed Saban to the Miami Dolphins where he was tight ends coach in 2005 and 2006 before taking the coaching position at La. Tech job. He assumed the duties of athletic director at La. Tech in March 2008.
