Word is that Larry Deen will announce for re-election tomorrow morning. Word also is that Julian Whittington will announce within a matter of days.
Get the ladies and children inside and dig some foxholes, this might be the battle of the century. Well, at least since the last one when Larry Deen won the office from Vol Dooley.
We'll be filling in more details in the next few days.
Bet Larry does not announce tomorrow he is running - bet its the opposite
ReplyDeleteYou think?
ReplyDeleteIm naming this race the Battle of Rocky Mount......
ReplyDeleteput money on it
ReplyDeleteYou may be right. There are several people in the know who are saying his support is crumbling under his feet.
ReplyDeleteBoth the Deen (Jesse & Larry) and Whittington (Don & Julian) families know the folks in the country very well. It could come down to the city voters.
ReplyDeleteI campaigned for Larry years ago when he beat Vol...but I also know Don and Julian well and my vote is for them! I am in the city now so I guess I will be some of the city vote!! haha

ReplyDeleteThat makes two of us. So Julian has at least two city voters on his side.
Dunno! I've lived most of my life in Bossier Parish, and I've always thought that The Haughtonians were the voters you REALLY NEEDED to be elected Sheriff.
ReplyDeleteIf I was running, I think I'd invest most of my legwork/handshaking in Haughton.
Just some free, unasked for advice there.
He is actually announcing today that he is RETIRING
ReplyDeleteI live in Haughton...I'm pro-whittington BIG TIME.
ReplyDeleteCould be he has changed his mind, but he has consistently said he was going to run again.
