Mrs. Luttrell charged in husband's murder

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's office has arrested Bobbie Luttrell for paying to have her husband, Ernest Luttrell, killed.  She was taken in and arrested right after the funeral this afternoon.
The 73 year old was found dead about noon Sunday.
According to a KTBS story, Mrs. Luttrell's daughter told them that her mother suffers from Alzheimers.
Sheriff Prator will have a news conference at 4 PM with details.  We will update this page as more information comes in.

UPDATE:  Mrs. Luttrell has also been charged with 1st degree murder.  According to Sheriff Prator's statement, she did it so she could sell the property and share the proceeds with family.

  2. If she is being treated by a dr. for alzehimers she will have her defense.

  3. Gut feeling I had told me she was involved. Don't know why. I guess I watched too many episodes of Cannon, Barnaby Jones, and other Quinn Martin productions when I was younger.

  4. GR, I watched all those shows, too. I mean, I must have watched every episode of Barnaby Jones at least twice...or thrice. (Actually probably dozens of times back when A&E was the official Barnaby Jones Channel.)

But, it never crossed my mind that his wife could be involved. Never.

I guess we'll see how this all plays out, but I (for one) will say that I am a bit stunned by this one.

  5. Andy,

I wish I could shoot like old Barnaby Jones and old Frank Cannon. Man alive could they shoot!
They could pull out their two-inch snubbed nose .38 and hit the bad guy, who was 100 yards away, running mind you, and ALWAYS hit the guy in the fleshy part of the right shoulder.

  6. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout, GR!

Make the unbelievable seem real. I guess that's why this thing seems so unbelievable.

I guess real life is sometimes even stranger than that.

  7. I'll go back further than that. Back in the 50's (when I really was a little kid) I love Highway Patrol with Broderick Crawford. That fat guy could jump out of his big black Dodge with the big fins, pull that little .38 special and hit a rabbit at 500 yards.
    Those were the days!

  8. Very bizarre twist to the story, I did not suspect the wife at all. But now I suspect that, if she is guilty, she was manipulated by the family member to whom she was going to give the money.

BTW, Jim, THIS network, broadcast channel 12.2, is showing Highway Patrol every morning at 4am. I often get up to watch it. My favorite shows were Perry Mason, Dragnet (original), and Highway Patrol, all in reruns. Original broadcasts were before my time.
